Spring Poetry Celebration at SDSU

Poetry International celebrates Poetic Youth and the launch of our Chapbook Series on May 5, 2016 in Scripps Cottage at San Diego State University (SDSU), 7-9pm.

Poetry International will be hosting an end of the year celebration for the Poetry International staff, Poetic Youth participants of Hoover High School, and the launch of the new Chapbook Series. Come join us for a night celebrating poetry at SDSU! Refreshments will be served following the reading. The event is free and open to the public.

Poetic Youth looks to address the problem of unequal access to the arts in San Diego. By providing free poetry and writing workshops to underserved youth communities, Poetic Youth bridges this gap in access and creates a larger community through poetry and the arts. Poetic Youth workshops focus on self-expression, imagination and character development, providing a transformative experience for everyone involved.

The Poetry International Chapbook Series will be publishing the first two books in this new series. Chapbooks will be available for purchase at the event.
