Poetry International is a world class literary magazine based on the campus of San Diego State University which caters to an international community of poets.
We’ve published a wide range of voices including Robert Bly, Kim Addonizio, Billy Collins, Wanda Coleman, Seamus Heaney, Edward Hirsch, Yusef Komunyakaa, and Derek Walcott, among many others. Each issue includes translations from around the world. Our featured translation sections have brought attention to under represented poets from Cuba, Vietnam, Iraq, and a host of other countries. Special chapbooks and symposiums, such as Symposium on Translation, are also included, and our book review section includes over 50 pages of careful consideration of poetry collections published in the previous year. You can find out more about all of that at the PI website.
Here, at the blog, our crack editorial staff of farflung poetry correspondents regularly tackles a broad array of relevant issues with tenacity and immediacy.
